Position Summary:Responsible for all aspects of the company's sales and marketing efforts. This includes:• Developing long term strategies for sales growth.• Increasing profitability, while ensuring superior customer service.• Manage the Director of Branch Sales, the General Manager, and the marketing department.• Manage National Accounts, B2C, and sales/marketing efforts.__________________________________II. General Responsibilities• Cooperatively work with the V.P of Operations to develop, implement, and oversee customer service standards for all companies.• Support the marketing programs, company initiatives, and product support.• Provide the sales and market data and related analysis for future branch locations.• In concert with each of the direct reports, review staffing requirements in light of workload, current business conditions, and strategic plan; make recommendations to ensure each department has the proper headcount to achieve their goals.• Develop and implement necessary subject matter and training materials to ensure that the companies have consistent sales and product training programs for all sales personnel; program must include testing and test results.• In concert with the V.P. of Operations and C.F.O., prepare the annual sales forecast by company, branch and sales territories. Approve and submit the Department budget for Marketing.• Oversee and approve expenses for direct reports; ensure that direct reports are following the current P & P dealing with expense approvals and cost controls.• Direct the development of Policy & Procedure for Sales and Marketing.• Serve on the Executive Staff advising peers as to sales results, market opportunities, and marketing efforts; provide input on topics discussed during the Staff Meeting.___________________________________________III. Sales Duties & Responsibilities• Develop company’s long-term strategy for sales growth. Protect company’s sales from competitors while ensuring profit improvement and resistance to gross margin shrinkage.• Oversee the development of new sales territories and/or restructuring of existing sales territories to ensure that company’s selling efforts are efficient and effective. This will be in concert with the V.P. of Operations and Director of Branch Sales.• Assist in the development of the International Market opportunities; define the strategic plan – who, where, when, how, and why; direct the assigned staff within the approved plan to achieve the stated goals.• Plan and approve semi-annual sales meetings – location, agenda, timing, and budget.• Coordinate and perform activities to grow sales with National Accounts; work closely with V.P. of Operations, CFO, and General Manager to build and/or improve relationships with the Company’s National Accounts nationwide; develop programs that will assist in “discovering” new customers which are currently being serviced by competitors• Develop and maintain a list of the company’s top National Account Customers and National Account targets; make regularly scheduled sales calls on both current and potential national accounts to ensure the development of strong relationships and new opportunities.• Analyze the needs of the targeted National Accounts; develop plans to ensure the Companies have an opportunity to compete for their business.• Evaluate Company performance with all National Accounts on an on-going basis and report the results to the management group. Determine areas for growth or improvement and drive any changes that will improve our Company’s position with National Accounts.__________________________________________________IV. Marketing Duties & Responsibilities• Establish and support the Marketing efforts for the companies in the development of promotional ideas, sales programs and sales contests. Establish necessary metrics for measurement and reporting documents associated to ensure the success of these programs and return of investment of our marketing dollars.• Implement the necessary process and guidelines to develop and encourage cross department communication between sales, merchandising, purchasing, and marketing to issue maximum success of the promotion used.• Direct the Marketing department in the development, production, and distribution of all company internal and external marketing materials including catalogs.• Responsible for all company internal and external internet marketing programs and initiatives.______________________________V. Management Duties:• Establish priorities and procedures to regulate the processes, tasks, and activities of the assigned Departments; use staff effectively to perform tasks or handle responsibilities based on their skills.• Foster and encourage a work environment characterized by mutual respect, and effectively handle any disagreements or conflicts that may arise.• Provide direction, define priorities, and set clear expectations for staff.• Use coaching skills effectively to improve staff performance; conduct effective and timely performance reviews.• Plan the future direction of the assigned Department based upon organizational goals and anticipated changes in the external and internal environment.• Manage the Department’s staff, participate in the performance review, salary review, hiring and disciplinary action of all Department personnel; participate in all firing decisions with one level up approval.• Train or oversee training for all Department personnel to enable them to perform their jobs at an optimum level; monitor training results.• Recruit, check references, hire and develop employees for the assigned Departments._________________________________________VI. Requirements/ QualificationsA. Required Abilities & Knowledge• Sales and Marketing – Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and a thorough understanding of the products and services we sell. This also includes a solid knowledge of price analysis and sales development data to measure our goal achievement levels.• Customer Service – Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.B. Required Education & Experience• 4 year college degree in Business or Marketing is required.• 10 years’ experience in the sales field.• 5 years’ experience in sales or business management.• Ability to work weekends, to travel, and to work overtime as needed._________________________________________________VII.
