SR. PROPULSION ENGINEER Our Client's Propulsion Engineers will leverage their creative background and expertise to help develop innovative solutions for the application of space systems technology. You will work in small collaborative groups through all stages of the propulsion component and system design including conceptual architecture layout, preliminary design, sizing, detail design, fabrication instruction writing and liaison shop support. You will have full ownership of your project from the initial concept through all phases of the design, analysis, manufacturing, and final integration of your parts.General Responsibilities:• Develop new innovative design concepts for our vehicle• Use engineering principles and fundamentals to provide novel solutions for technically challenging problems• Develop sophisticated 1D and 3D models to substantiate the physics behind the design• Detail orientated, managing multiple priorities while maintaining focus towards a common goal• Participate in design reviews• Focus on reaching the highest possible mass-fraction while maintaining unparalleled reliability Specific Responsibilities:• Develop engine balance software for staged combustion rocket engine• Analyze combustion chemistry for liquid oxygen oxidizer and RP-1 and methane fuels• Assist in design of Rocket engine nozzles• Assist in design of rocket engine pre-burner• Assist in design of rocket engine combustion chamber• Assist in design of rocket engine turbomachinery• Perform thermal analysis of rocket engines• Perform CFD analysis of rocket engines• Assist in component selection for rocket engineBasic Qualifications:• BS in Aerospace Engineering or related engineering discipline• Exceptional comprehension of engineering fundamentals • Excels in heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and solid mechanics.• Must be a U.S. person as defined by the ITAR Preferred Qualifications• 20 years of hands on rocket engine development• Experience with CFD, specifically Ansys CFX.• Knowledge of thermal fluid system design, analysis and manufacturing practices• Works well in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment• Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure fast pace environment• Self-motivated minimum direction requiredCOMPENSATIONBase Salary - Excellent Base Benefits - Full Relocation Assistance Available - Possible for ideal candidate CANDIDATE DETAILS15+ years experienceManagement Experience Required - NoMinimum Education - Bachelor's DegreeWillingness to Travel - NeverSCREENING QUESTIONSIs the candidate a US Person as defined by ITAR?Is the candidate aware this position is located in Cedar Park, Texas and does not allow remote work?IDEAL CANDIDATEHands on engineer that can work well in a fast paced environment with minimal structureWHY WE'RE A GREAT COMPANYFlexible hours, great location, open environment with an inspiring missionADDITIONAL DETAILSLocation: Cedar Park, TX (Austin Area)Industry: Aerospace / Aviation / DefenseVisa Candidate Considered: No
