Opportunity:Process Control EngineerLocation:Rochester, NY or Albany, NYDescriptionProcess Control Engineer will be part of our Systems Solutions business unit. This position will be based out of Rochester, NY or Albany, NY areas. The successful candidate would assist our Engineering and Sales teams in the development and delivery of process control solutions for our industrial customers.We offer a wide variety of project and automation opportunities to challenge our associates in our team-oriented work environment. Pharmaceutical, specialty chemical, food and beverage, pulp and paper...you name it we've automated it. We have developed and implemented systems ranging from simple on-off control to complex DCS and data acquisition systems.Seeking a candidate to fill a Process Control Engineer position to perform and lead the development, design, implementation, testing and startup of process control system automation projects. This is a customer-facing role. Candidate must have an excellent understanding of batch and continuous process control to develop and execute the control strategies used on assigned projects. Process Control Engineers perform and direct activities relating to the design specifications of the Emerson DeltaV control system platform. They also interface with other process control systems as necessary. The successful candidate will participate in all phases of a customer project, from requirements definition through plant startup. They also must work closely with the Project Managers and Project Technical Leads to ensure successful installations with regards to technical requirements, timing and budget. Travel to various project sites will be required for design information gathering, client meetings, engineering support, check-out/commissioning activities and startup/hot cutovers.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Manage multiple concurrent process automation system projectsParticipate in team efforts including design, documentation, configuration, testing, simulation, installation and commissioning of process automation systemsDevelop variety of continuous, batch and Advanced Process Control applicationsDevelop variety of process industriesDefining control system designs and documentationReviewing control system designs with customer teamImplement the design into the Emerson DeltaV control systemInternal and customer witnessed control system testingProcess SimulationOperator TrainingParticipate in startup and commissioning of complex systems at customer sitesWork independently and as part of a project teamTroubleshoot system hardware, software, network and instrument bus technologies.Education and/or Experience:B.S.
